There is a newly opened shop near my house which on the very first day opened, already had all types of sanitary and household goods in stock. When I asked them for a sewing kit, it was in stock. Some days later, I required a hammer and to my surprise, it was also in stock. During our visits, a couple of times we wanted a beach umbrella and it was available too. I have to state, it was surprisingly easy for us to shop from the store next to our place. They remained there for a year, but Then I found out that the store was closed permanently. One day I spoke with one of the employees of that shop, and he told sad story of that shop. One thing he said that was most unfortunate was, we had daily customers when we first opened, but they soon lost a majority of them. The set-up of their store was absolutely off from the main road and even passer-bys could see their sign. However, their biggest issue was the lack of marketing. It is my guess the red-scan reader gave enough reasons why they gave up advertising entirely. The store was missing a banner, display, and frame or any kind of outdoor advertisement and as such did not manage to keep customers. Those issues can bring down the stores.
